Planning a trip to an exclusive Caribbean island or private island resort and wondering how best to get there?
Many popular Caribbean islands, private island resorts do not have any direct flights from major airports in the US and Europe, so making reservations on inter-island or regional airlines is required for the last leg of travel.

At WIMCO Prive' our Air Department can book your villa or hotel, and arrange private jet charter flights (shared or exclusive) from major airports in the US and Europe directly to those Caribbean islands, and private island resorts that do not have scheduled commercial flight service from the US or Europe

The most frequently requested routes for private charters are to those Caribbean islands that do not have direct flights from the US. This includes Anguilla, Tortola and Mustique. Two other islands, St Barts and Virgin Gorda have runaways that are too short to accommodate Private Jets.
Vacationers heading to St Barts can charter a private jet to St Martin and then take a smaller prop plane over to St Barts. Vacationers heading to Virgin Gorda or one of the private islands in the BVI can charter a private jet to Tortola, then take a ferry boat to Virgin Gorda or one of the private island resorts nearby.

There are several benefits to flying in a private charter, which contribute to the price premium vs flying commercial. When departing, you will check in at a private FBO terminal instead of a public terminal. This makes travel much more convenient, you park closer, you check-in faster, and the TSA screening process is expedited.
On the plane itself, you will typically see business-class level seating. There is a premium that comes with these benefits, and you can expect to pay 1.5x to 3x the price of a first-class ticket when flying on a private jet charter plane.
Feel free to submit an inquiry to our Airline Reservations department for travel to and from any destination, at any time of the year, so we can prepare a quote for your review
A fixed-base operator (FBO) is a private terminal at an airport that private jet charter planes use for arrivals and departures. An FBO is much smaller than a regular terminal, and is accessed via a private entrance and has its own parking. Most FBOS consist of a check-in desk, a waiting area or lounge, cafeteria or snack area, restrooms, meeting rooms and TSA security check area.
The planes pull right up to the door so the distance from the check-in area to lounge to the plane is very short. All of this makes the experience of departing through an FBO more comfortable and faster than departing through commercial terminals.
There are several factors that go into the cost of a seat on a private charter. There is the fixed operating cost of the plane, the route requested, the date requested, and where the plane is located and how much distance it has to cover to reposition to the requested airport for departure.
When shopping for the best pricing for a private charter flight, WIMCO’s Air department will research planes that are positioned close to the departure city, which will often result in a lower price quote.
An “Empty Leg” is a situation where a private jet charter has dropped off its passengers, and has no passengers booked for the flight back to its home base. This one way leg of the trip is then offered at a discounted price because operators of the plane will try to generate some income for a flight that’s going to happen anyway, whether it is empty or full.
The standard food and beverage service for most flights up to 3 hours long consists of complimentary snacks, beer, wine, soft drinks and bottled water. These are freely available throughout the flight. If your group wants a custom catered meal service, expect to pay $50 to $90 per person depending on the food and beverage options chosen.
Yes, many of the aircraft in the private charter market are equipped with WiFi. If this is something you wish to have during your flight, please notify WIMCO’s Air department when booking your private charter flights.
In most cases the answer is “yes”. Your dog or cat can travel in the seat beside you. Some general guidelines apply, such as using a body harness for larger pets or a carrier box for the smaller pets. Your pets will need to be attached to a seat belt during take-offs and landings. Make sure you inform WIMCO’s Air department when booking your private jet charter flight so the appropriate arrangements can be made for your pet.
The amount of luggage that you can bring on a private jet charter depends on the size of the aircraft, the number of passengers flying on the plane, and the weight of the luggage. Your WIMCO Air department agent can advise you of these details when you are setting up your private flights.
Yes, while the interior configurations and amenities vary based on the type and size of the aircraft, the majority of private jet options presented have some sort of bathroom accommodations.
