Anguilla is a small island with dual coral systems and an abundance of white-sand beaches and turquoise waters at the northernmost tip of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean.
Its nearest neighbor is St. Martin, but Anguilla is far more calm, casual, and relaxed but with its own authentic style, than the dual French/Dutch island to the South.
Anguilla is considered one of the safest islands in the Caribbean. You won't find casinos, high-rise hotels, or cruise ships stopping here and Anguillians are genuine and good-natured, likely because of these bans. Perhaps that's why celebrities flock here, although it may well be due to the island's acclaimed food and music scenes.
Anguilla is the northernmost island of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. From North America, you can fly directly from Miami (MIA) to Anguilla (AXA). It’s also possible to connect to AXA via San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) or St. Maarten (SXM).
Anguilla can be as expensive as you want it to be. It’s possible to spend a lot on dinner at a top restaurant, but there are many restaurants that offer reasonably priced food. When you rent a villa, you’ll have a gourmet kitchen to prepare meals in, which will save you money.
Renting a villa is not cheap, but it’s a great value - especially for families—because of the amenities, privacy and space. You get much more for your money at a villa than you would at a hotel or resort because you know your cost up front, and you don’t have to pay for each little thing.
Anguilla is a small but beautiful island with many lovely areas to stay in and enjoy luxury villa living. Meads Bay has pristine waters and lots of family-friendly activities. Other popular areas are Blowing Point, Rendezvous Bay, Little Bay, Long Bay and Shoal Bay. You can’t go wrong with any of them.
Anguilla is one of the safest islands in the Caribbean and is popular with families. Crime is low—especially for tourists—but you should use common sense while exploring. Don’t wear expensive jewelry or flash money around. At night, Anguilla is usually safe in public areas, but avoid walking alone in dark and deserted areas, just as you would anywhere else.
