As charming and luxurious as our collection of luxury villa rentals can be. Sometimes you want to spend more time and a great way to add a few extra days to your vacation is to book a luxury hotel after the week-long villa vacation.
Hotel Relais Ducale, in the historic center of Gubbio, and Hotel San Luca in Spoleto, are luxury boutique hotels that offer a variety of pampering services and amenities without having to leave the hotel grounds.

Hotel San Luca, in the small town of Spoleto, combines the new and old worlds, with a 19th century main building and a newer building with all of your favorite amenities. Umbria is a region in central Italy, east of Tuscany and about two hours between Rome and Florence. Umbria is best known for its picturesque countryside, charming small villages and numerous wineries.
Part of the thrill of visiting Umbria is driving through the vineyards, laden with grapes in the fall or stark and cross-shaped in the spring, turning a corner and having an historic hill town unfold before you.
You can also visit any number of small villages, each with its own signature wine, local crafts and artwork, or simply walk through the countryside surrounding your luxury villa rental and breath in the calm and the centuries of history.
Umbria is charming most any time of year. However, if we had to choose a time, we'd opt for the quieter, less touristy periods between April and mid-June and between mid-September and mid-October.
In July and August, you'll find the most tourists as well as the highest temperatures, often in the high 80s. January and February are the coldest months, with low temperatures ranging in the high 30s to low 40s.
The closest international airport to Umbria is Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport, located about 35 minutes southwest of Rome and about a two hour drive from Umbria. There are many non-stop flights from North American cities, including New York City, Boston, Toronto, Chicago and Atlanta. Travel time from Boston and New York City is approximately eight hours. You can also fly into Florence or Pisa.
If you are traveling from cities in Europe, there are flights to the small airport in the Umbrian town of Perugia. There are several non-stop flights to Perugia from European cities, including London, Brussels, Rotterdam, Athens and Vienna.
